This DS incarnation boasts the same high-profile voice cast as the console versions, including such famous names as Elijah Wood, Christina Ricci, Gary Oldman, and Mark Hamill.Īll of the script's dialogue is delivered well enough, but the cast members never feel like they’re playing off each other and the storytelling falls flat overall.
The final chapter in the Legend of Spyro trilogy, this year's entry sees the eponymous young dragon partnering with his former foe Cynder the dragoness in an effort to stop the evil Malefor from destroying the world. Solid controls and attractive 3D graphics offer some promise early on, but Dawn of the Dragon proves to be too sparse and too short to make for a satisfying gameplay experience. Even if the name is similar to the last console game created by Etranges Libellules, the development was completely independent.The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon brings the purple dragon back to side-scrolling fare for its DS incarnation in a mix of platforming and brawling action, with the occasional on-rails shooting sequence to boot. This episode is the last one of the trilogy. They also can glide a bit in order to reach far platforms.
Each dragon has 4 types of breath linked to specific elements (fire, poison, ice, etc.). The game is story driven with a lot of scripted sequences inside the levels.
There are also flying sequences which are played like Space Harrier. This new episode of Spyro is mainly a platformer with a bit of exploration. Spyro and Cynder will meet friends such has Ignitus the red dragon and Hunter the panther who will help them during their quest. They will travel together through catacombs, forests, a dragon city and wastelands to defeat Malfor the great black dragon who seeks to destroy the world.
Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon on mobile phones follows the plot of the previous mobile episodes.
